Supply Polyaluminium chloride (PAC) production line

Polyaluminium chloride (PAC) is increasingly used for water treatment. Against the conventional use of aluminium sulphate (alum) it is showing distinct advantages.

A polyaluminium chloride plant is an investment opportunity with attractive returns in a growing market.

Raw materials:
Aluminium hydroxide powder: AL2O3, ≥, 58%; PH value, 7-8;
Hydrochloric acid: HCL, ≥22%;
Aluminium calcium powder: AL2O3, 48%; CaO, 30%;
Bauxite: AL2O3, 28-32%; CaO, 30%.

For PAC production equipments, there are two kinds of manufacturing process, roller dried process and spray dried process. Roller dried process is more environmental polluted and produce more waste air, dust and residue, most of China's PAC enterprise adopt this process. Spray dried process is less environmental pollted and produce higher quality PAC, and only limited enterprise adopt this process at present.

Features of spray dried process:
The features of pressure type spray dried method is determined by the operating principle of pressure type atomizer. The output product after pressure type spray dried process is porous fine particle or hollow fine particle, which show the features of superiors dustproof and flowing property. Owing to its bigger contact area between itself and surrounding water than other powder products, it shows better wettabiliy and quicker water purifying speed. Spray granulation is to dry polyaluminium chloride and atomize to be minute particle simultaneously. Polyaluminium chloride is water soluble substance and shows features of good thermal stability and high solubility. Polyaluminium chloride solution with 40-50% solid content on drying is introduced to high pressure pump, atomized in atomizer of dryer to be minute fogdrop which is then dried to be granular products. Dehydration and granulation are made simultaneously in this process.

Aluminum chloride, crystal


Molecular formula: ALCL3·6H2O
Technical standard: In conformity with China national standard.

Appearance: Colorless, brown or yellow crystal.

Product nature: Liable to be exposed to moisture, non-combustible, nontoxic, easily soluble in water, alcohol, ether and glycerol, aqueous solution show acidity, decomposition temperature of 100℃, and give out chlorine hydride when thermal decomposition.

Application:
Mainly used for treatment of drinking water, and make better effect especially for the treatment of low temperature, low turbidity and alkaline water. Also the intermediate product for manufacturing polyaluminium chloride for the substitute of hydrochloric acid, which can reduce pollution.

Production process of manufacturing liquid PAC with Crystal aluminum chloride
Crystal aluminum chloride- Water dilution- Calcium aluminate powder- Polymerisation- Finished liquid product

1 ton of Crystal aluminum chloride, mixed with more or less 700 Kg calcium aluminate powder, can yield 6-7 tons of 8-10% liquid PAC.

Features:
1. Free from water, dust and atmosphere pollution, for use of crystal aluminium chloride instead of directly using of hydrochloric acid.
2. Uses of crystal aluminium chloride yield less offscourings than other materials such as bauxite, aluminium powder, etc., which can decrease labor content and increase production efficiency.
3. Less production procedure, decrease production energy consumption, and reduce cost.
4. Owing to adopting low temperature, normal pressure polymerization, intrinsic activity of crystal aluminium chloride are maintained, which make it bear the features of adaption to wide water area, less dosage (less more or less 20% than ordinary reagent), yielding less sludge, lower cost of water treatment, larger flocs, quick sedimentation, better adation to the abrupt change of raw water turbidity and flow.

PROPERTIES
1. Its dosage lower than aluminum sulfate (based on Al2O3) and water treatment cost is lower than other inorganic flocculants. 2. The product can cause quick formation of flocs, big flocs formation and rapid precipitation. Its treatment capacity is 1.3-3.0 times of other inorganic flocculants. 3. It enjoys wide-range adaptability for different-temperature source water and a good solubility. 4. It is slightly corrosive and easy for operation. 5. The liquid product is suitable for automatic dosing. Furthermore, it will not block pipes over long-time usage.

Application
PAC is a kind of inorganic macromolecule flocculant. Through the hydroxyl ion bridging function and the polyvalent anion polymeric function, it produces large molecular and high electricity inorganic macromolecule. It adapts a wide PH range of 5.0~9.0, and the best is between 6.5~7.6.
1) Purification of river water, lake water and underground water
2) Purification of industry water and industry recycling water.
3) Purification of waster water
4) Reclaiming coal from coal-washing waste water and kaolin in ceramic industry
5) Purification of the waste water in printing and dyeing industry, leather industry, brewage industry, meat-processing industry, coal-washing, metallurgy industry, mine, pharmacy, paper-making, and purification of the waste water containing fluorine, oil and heavy metals
6) Tannage and cloth cockling-prevent

PAC-01:White powder, spray dryer type, for drinking water treatment or paper production. PAC-02:Yellow powder, spray dryer type, for drinking water treatment or wastewater treatment.
PAC-03:Yellow powder, drum dryer type, for drinking water treatment or waste water treatment.
PAC-04: Gray powder: drum dryer type, for waste water treatment.
PAFC: Brown powder, for drinking water treatment or waste water treatment.

APPLICATION METHODS
No standard dosage rate can be recommended. Optimum dosage rate and best place of addition should be determined by onsite trials.
1. The liquid product can be dosed directly or dosed after dilution. As for the solid product, dilution is necessary before being dosed. Water amount for dilution shall be determined based on the amount of the chemical to be dosed and the quality of water to be treated. Dilution proportion for solid product is 2%-20%, and for liquid product, 5%-50%(based on weight percentage).
2. The dosage of the liquid product is 3-40g/MT and the dosage of the solid product is 1-15g/MT. The specific dosage is based on the flocculation test and on the trial.
3. Its acidity is lower than other inorganic coagulants.

Different product constitutive property and different treated water quality effect
The three primary indicator of PAC are Al2O3 content, basicity and water soluble substance.
1. In the spray drying process, nozzle uniformly spray mother liquid in the drying tower, which ensure Al2O3 content is uniformly and stable and easily controlled within target zone, improve adsorptivity of colloidal particle and make coagulation and flocculation effect, which is unmatched by other drying process.
2. Basicity namely polymerization degree directly influence water treatment effect. Adoption of pressure type particle spray drying process can increase product polymeriztion degree in the situation of maintaining activity of mother liquid. Furthermore, basiciy can adjusted according to different water quality for product manufactured through spray drying process, whereas product manufactured through roller drying process is liable to break polymeriztion degree, have only very small basicity range, and adjust to limited water quality.
3. Owing to adopting plate frame pressure filtration technology, solid water nonsoluble substance are controlled within 0.3 and liquid water nonsoluble substance within 0.1, which ensure the smoothness of clients pipe, and this is unattainable by free setting process.

Different composite cost
Products manufactured through spray drying process show features of high stability, adaptation to wide water area, quick hydrolysis speed, strong absorptivity, big flocs, quick precipitation, low turbidity out of water and superior dehydration property. Spray drying products are needed less than other products for the treatment of same water quality, and especially for seriously polluted water, Spray drying products are only needed half less than roller drying products, which can not only decrease worker’s labor intensity, but also reduce clients’ water cost. Besides, spray drying products can avoid water accident, and are more safe and reliable for drinking water.


NOTE: As customer have special requirement for quality, we can carry out production according to the index that customer offers.

PACKAGE AND STORAGE
1. The solid product is packaged in 25kg polypropylene woven bags with inner plastics bags, 20MT/FCL without pallet.
2. The liquid product can be stored for one year without losing its effect, while the solid product, for two years. The product should be stored in a dry and ventilative room, but the effect will not be affected even if it gets wet.

Risks and Safety Info
It is not a hazardous chemical but moderately acidic in nature. Plenty of water can be used if spillage occurs on hands, face or any other part of body.
Caution1) Hygroscopic! No exposure to open air for long time, use out all material after opening packing.2) Corrosive! Choose proper container and storage place.3) Store in dry and ventilated place, avoid imcompatible material such as active metals, strong alkali and humidity. Guaranty Period: 12 months.
